Service Description

Ready to take your pottery skills to the next level? Our 8-week Intermediate Pottery Course is designed for students who are comfortable with the basics of wheel throwing and are ready to expand their techniques, creativity, and confidence in the studio. Throughout the course, you'll explore more advanced wheel-thrown forms such as lidded jars, larger vessels, plates, and other functional pieces. We'll also dive into decorative surface methods including carving and sgraffito, giving you the tools to create truly unique, personal pieces. Rather than following a rigid curriculum, this course is shaped by the interests and goals of the group. Our instructors will adjust demonstrations and weekly projects to focus on the techniques participants are most excited to learn, making every session engaging and tailored to the class. Who is it for? This course is recommended for students who have completed at least two beginner wheel throwing courses (or have equivalent experience) and are comfortable centering clay, throwing basic cylinders and bowls, and trimming. What's Included? * 8 weekly classes (2.5 hours each, including 30 minutes for cleanup) * One sleeve of stoneware clay * Unlimited use of studio tools during class * Bisque and glaze firing * Glazes and glazing materials * One self-guided wheel session to use as either a makeup class or extra studio time to finish your projects Additional clay is available for purchase in the studio if you'd like to create even more throughout the course. Whether you're looking to refine your throwing skills, experiment with new techniques, or challenge yourself with more ambitious projects, this course provides the guidance and tools to help bring your ideas to life.
