Service Description
This 8-week intermediate hand-building course is designed for makers looking to deepen their skills and explore more advanced techniques in clay in a smaller group setting of up to 10 people. Led by our instructor Darina, the course will cover a range of more complex pottery approaches including surface design, sgraffito, plaster mold making, building larger-scale pieces, slip decoration and an intro to sculptural pottery. This class is for people with prior hand-building experience - ideally those who have completed at least two beginner hand-building courses (but if you are confident in your basic pinching, coiling, and slab-building skills, you are welcome to join!). The course includes unlimited clay, all firings, and full access to studio tools. Each session runs for 2.5 hours including 15 minutes cleanup. One make up session is possible per person (based on our drop in class space availability). Pieces will be ready for pick up 3 - 4 weeks after the course's final class.

Terms and Conditions: Classes are for ages 14+ All courses are non-refundable. We require at least two week advance notice to reschedule a course, regardless of the date of booking. There is no partial refund for missed classes. Late arrival will result in missed demonstration. Our instructor will not be able to repeat it for you so please arrive on time. All course work must be completed in the studio. We are only able to fire pieces made in the studio under instructor's supervision to minimize the risk of pieces exploding during firing. Make-up Sessions: We will try to accommodate one makeup class per session, however we may not always be able to do so. Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. For missed classes in the last two weeks, rescheduling will not be possible due to firing schedules. Note that new work can't be started during the last two classes (unless you are registered for the following session) We are unable to roll over make-up classes into the next session.
