About
Our single hand building or glazing classes are a perfect way to try a new skill, relax, and create a unique piece at an affordable price in Toronto. We offer a freestyle 2 and 2.5 hour class, where you are encouraged to let your creativity and personal style take over and create unique piece to take home! Your ticket includes pottery tools, unlimited clay, and a firing of one piece!
Important Information for First Time Students:
This class does not involve usage of a pottery wheel. Glazes can only be applied to fired pottery, so two class bookings are required to get a finished food safe piece* (read more below). Pieces picked up after the first class can be used for decorative purposes only.

Class Overview
-
10-20 minutes introduction to the main techniques of pottery hand building and glazing by an experienced instructor
-
1.5-2 hours (depending on the class length) of creating, underglazing or glazing your piece/ pieces of pottery
-
15 minutes of clean up time at the end of the class

Firing Process:
One regular-sized piece per person is included. Additional pieces can be fired for $5 + HST (regular) or $10 for pieces over 10 inches. If your included piece is over 10 inches, an extra $5 is charged. Ticket prices are not adjusted if you choose not to fire any pieces.
Firings take up to 3 weeks. Once finished, photos are posted on our Firing Updates page. When you see your piece online, you may pick it up during class hours or book a glazing class.
The studio is not responsible for breakage during firing; despite careful handling, breakage is, unfortunately, an unavoidable part of pottery.

Glazing Process:
You may glaze your piece after the first firing by booking any hand-building/glazing class. Glazed pieces require a second firing with the same pricing and timeline as the first.

* Glazed pieces are food- and microwave-safe only if properly glazed with food-safe glaze. Follow glazing instructions carefully, allow at least 30 minutes of class time for glazing, and inspect your piece at pickup. A rough surface may indicate it is not food safe—please check with an instructor if unsure.

Ticket Policy:
Tickets are non-refundable and can be moved to a different date with 7+ days’ notice. We cannot reschedule within 7 days, regardless of booking date. For last-minute cancellations, you may send someone else—please notify us with their name and contact info.
