Service Description

Ready to try the pottery wheel? Our 4-week beginner course is designed for complete beginners or anyone looking to build a strong foundation in wheel throwing. In a relaxed and supportive environment, you'll learn the full pottery process - from centering clay on the wheel to finishing and glazing your own handmade pieces. Each weekly class is 2.5 hours long (including 30 minutes for cleanup) and includes all clay, tools, glazes, and firing. No experience is needed, just come ready to get your hands dirty and have fun! What you'll learn: * Wheel throwing fundamentals and how to center clay * Creating cups, bowls, and other basic forms * Trimming and refining your pieces * Glazing techniques and choosing from our selection of studio glazes Course Outline: Week 1: Wheel throwing Week 2: Wheel throwing, exploring different shapes Week 3: Trimming all pieces Week 4: Glazing and under glazing By the end of the course, you'll have a collection of unique, functional and food safe ceramics made entirely by you. Whether you're looking for a new hobby, a creative outlet, or simply want to try something new, this course is the perfect place to start.

Cancellation Policy

Terms and Conditions: Classes are for ages 14+ All courses are non-refundable. We require at least two week advance notice to reschedule a course, regardless of the date of booking. There is no partial refund for missed classes. Late arrival will result in missed demonstration. Our instructor will not be able to repeat it for you so please arrive on time. All course work must be completed in the studio. We are only able to fire pieces made in the studio under instructor's supervision to minimize the risk of pieces exploding during firing. Make-up Sessions: We will try to accommodate one makeup class per session, however we may not always be able to do so. Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. For missed classes in the last two weeks, rescheduling will not be possible due to firing schedules. Note that new work can't be started during the last two classes (unless you are registered for the following session) We are unable to roll over make-up classes into the next session.
