Wheel Class | 2.5 Hour
2.5 hour pottery wheel class
Service Description
Our 2.5-hour wheel class is a perfect way to try your hands on the wheel, relax, and create unique pottery pieces. This beginner-friendly class includes all materials, stoneware clay, and guidance from an experienced instructor throughout the session. Class Overview * 15 minute introduction to the pottery wheel and basic throwing techniques * 90 minutes of wheel throwing with the instructor nearby to answer questions and help as needed * 15 minute decorating/ finishing up the piece * 30 minutes of clean up Firing Process Firing of one regular-sized piece is included. Additional piece or piece over 10 inches can be fired for a 5$ fee, payable at the end of class by card or cash. Firings take up to 3 weeks to complete. Once ready, photos of finished pieces are posted on our website's "Firing Updates" page. You may then pick up your piece during class hours or book a “hand building or glazing class” to glaze it. Please note that our studio is not responsible for pieces that may crack or break during the firing process. Glazing Process Glazes can only be applied to fired pottery, so two class bookings are required to create a finished, food-safe piece. Pieces picked up after the first firing without glazing are suitable for decorative purposes only. You may glaze your piece during any hand building or glazing class. Booking Policy Tickets are non-refundable but may be rescheduled with at least 5 days' notice. Unfortunately, we are unable to reschedule bookings with less than 5 days' notice, regardless of when the reservation was made or reason for rescheduling. If you cannot attend, you are welcome to send someone in your place, just let us know their name and contact information.
Upcoming Sessions
Cancellation Policy
Tickets are non-refundable, but can be moved to another date with at least 7 days notice. We are not able to reschedule booking less than 7 days in advance no matter when the booking was made. Last minute cancellation spots can be transferred under a different name. Please contact us with the name and contact information of the person attending the session in your place. Firing fee for additional or oversized pieces can be paid for at the end of the class via cash or card. Firing fee is 5$ for regular sized piece and 10$ for pieces over 10 inches. The studio is not responsible for your pieces possibly getting damaged or broken before, during, or after the firing process. Glazing can optionally be done in the studio. A hand building/ glazing class booking is needed to be able to glaze your piece after the first firing. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. A separate booking is required for each participant. Please arrive on time to be present for the demo as the instructor will not be able to repeat it after. Due to the limited spaces available and classes being often sold out, sitting together might not be possible. Please plan to arrive ahead of class time to make sure you can secure the spots of your choosing.
